During 2004 Len Thompson worked on a drivers championship, helping with the types of events, eligible cars and circuits that should be included in the Lagonda Rapier Drivers Championship that year.

The untimely death of Len Thompson at Cadwell Park in June of 2004, immediately led to the renaming of the drivers championship to:

The "Len Thompson Memorial Trophy" Drivers Champion will be presented with the trophy at the end of the season,. This prestigious trophy will be kept for one year by the winner. There is no formal entry to this championship, you just have to have competed in the nominated races in a Lagonda Rapier... Good Luck!!
